Jimpster's last release Burning Up showed a slightly different string to his bow, delivering a driving electronic jam which married a speaker wobbling analogue bassline with jacking, disco-tinged beats. While we wait for the remix package which includes stunning interpretations from Bawrut, Charles Webster and Telfort he has been busy cooking up three original tracks which make up the Curve EP.

The title track keeps things sweet and smooth with floating synth lines and punctuating stabs riding a trademark Jimpster bassline. As it develops he introduces a classic chord riff lifting the energy and cranking up the feel-good factor making for a unique and musical mood- setter which will get well and truly under your skin.

Next up we have The Sweetness Of That Song which keeps things on a jazz tip with Rhodes chords, Juno pads and a funked-up bassline working the their magic. Jimpster has a knack for making things appear deceptively simple whilst introducing subtle elements and more complex lines and textures to keep the interest but without cluttering the raw, house groove.

Finally, things get ultra blissed-out on Simmering Down where dense layers of stuttering pads build upon each other forming a beautiful wall of sound, snatches of voice drifting into focus for a fleeting moment before disappearing into the ether. A dream-like mood but with a powerful low end and precision groove ensuring this one will hold it's own on discerning dance-floors out there.
